As a Trust we support our schools in ensuring children receive a rich and varied curriculum. We love to see out schools offering experiences beyond Cumbria which support children in understanding the wider world. Our schools offer some wonderful experiences including trips locally for our Year 2 pupils up to city experiences for our older pupils. Recently our Year 5 cohort from Fairfield headed to Liverpool and Manchester, their account is below:
Day 1...
The children explored Liverpool and enjoyed visiting #theliverpoolmuseum before having lunch listening to live music from the Eurovision Song Contest. The children then embarked on a fabulous river cruise on the Mersey, with more live music and sight seeing. Then, they headed to Manchester for a delicious evening meal and 18 holes of fun at #DinoGolf!
A fabulous first day exploring two of the UK's main cities.
Day 2...
Yet another action packed day with the children enjoying a stadium tour of Old Trafford, followed by a guided museum tour, a 'Racism and Diversity in Football Workshop' (linked to British Values) and a Mega Store shop! After visiting The True Red Devils Old Trafford, it was time to put on the skis as the children headed to Chill Factore! The children made incredible memories and learnt new skills through enjoying snowboarding, tobogganing, rock climbing and a ski lesson. Naturally, they also had a play in the snow! Still bursting with energy, it was then time to bowl, dine and have fun at NAMCO amusements in The Trafford Centre - this included a go on the dodgems!
Day 3...
To conclude a fantastic residential, Year 5 enjoyed a very informative trip to the Manchester Museum. The museum provided lots of learning opportunities linked to current and prior history topics of study.
From start to finish, the children were true ambassadors for our school. Well done Year 5!
